Setting the scene
In my free time I've started to dabble in floral design. I've taken some classes, read books, and watched youtube videos. I usually shop at Trader Joe's because the flowers are cheap and they have a good selection.

The problem
When shopping at Trader Joe's, I can't plan ahead because their floral inventory is different every shopping trip. I have to create an arrangement based off of what flowers they have in stock.

Competitive analysis
Does this tool already exist?
I searched for a mobile-first tool that generates color schemes from a single starter color and came up empty.
Is AI suited to the task?
AI has been trained on images for years and can already identify colors from photos, making it a natural fit for this problem.

Creating a mental model
An ideal tool would allow you to start with a photograph from your mobile phone while you stood in Trader Joe's, then generate color schemes based off of that photo. I mapped out the mental model that the ideal tool would need.

Time to vibe code
After creating the mental model, I fed it into a vibecoding tool. The tool created a functional website for me, and I added a few accessibility features to finish off the project.

Impact: No more
Trader Joe's stress!
After creating my mobile-first web app, I took it to Trader Joe's to try it out. It worked great! I created an arrangement with a much more interesting color scheme as a result. I'm looking forward to adding more features in the future!
